For those of you that don’t already know, one of my major life goals is to own only shoes that slip on. I guess buckles or Velcro are acceptable, but no laces allowed. I’m done with those pesky laces. Why? I guess the short answer is that I’m crazy. The long answer is that I’m crazy and figure it will save me some time (which I’m always running short on).

Anyway, about a week or so ago, Mahra (that’s my awesome wife in case you do not already know that) came home with a new pair of shoes for me. Some nice, comfy, brown leather Nunn Bush shoes. And they are SLIP ONS!!!

So, I’m just a little bit closer to my goal. It’s a happy time for me and my feet.

So I finally got Quincy’s new pool up and running. It took me a while to get all the supplies and learn how to work the chemicals, but I did it. Oh… and he loves it. Thanks Grandpa and Grandma for such a great birthday gift!

Have you ever fed your kid moldy noodles? I have! Luckily, Quincy noticed after only one bite. He didn’t know what it was and thought the noodle was burnt or something. Yuck!

Tonight, we made a trip to the ER. Mahra sprained her ankle pretty badly, but at least it is not broken.

I came home tonight, from work, to find her laying in the front yard holding the baby. At first I thought she was just playing around. But Quincy ran up to the car to tell me that Mommy needed my help. Turns out she tripped and twisted her ankle in a hole. Since she was not able to put any weight on it we decided to visit the ER and have it looked at. I got the kids and gear all ready, helped Mahra hop into the car and we headed out. Luckily the ER wasn’t very busy tonight and we got in and out pretty quickly.

She’s all medicated up and doing fine now. The doctor said that she would be back to normal by the middle of next week. She just has to rest and keep her foot up as much as possible over the next couple days.

Yesterday was my father’s 61st birthday (HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!). From what I hear, it was a pretty good birthday. That is until he was returning home from a meeting that night. At around 8:30pm Dad hit a deer, on the highway, just outside of Farmington. He was not hurt, but the same can’t be said for the deer or the car.

The car was towed to a shop and Dad got a lift home. What a way to wrap up a birthday.

Maybe I’ll see if he has a photo of the damage to the car. It would make a nice addition to this post.
