Is it just me or does the new Xerox logo feel like it might have been inspired by Plastic Man?

A friend just told me about this podcast that is giving away an iphone. All I have to do is link to their site and let them know. I just looked at the site and it seems like an interesting show. I think I’ll start listening to it. Check it out.

On Monday and Tuesday, of this week, I attended An Event Apart Chicago. It was a really great group of sessions this year. The only one that I didn’t enjoy was “The Seven Lies of Information Architecture”. My favorite sessions were “Best Practices For Form Design” & “The State of CSS In an IE7 World”. My biggest take away from the conference was… how can I have been doing web standards design for almost 4 years and not have heard about Dean Edward’s IE7 project? How?

On Saturday morning we returned home, from a doctor’s appointment, to the overwhelming smell of hot plastic. Right away I was able to track the smell down to the basement and over to Mahra’s PC which was powered up, but had no running fans or video displayed. Turns out that the fan in the power supply had stopped working and the fan on the CPU had broke and wasn’t turning either. Luckily we found it before it got hot enough to start a fire, but it was still crazy hot. I was able to run out the next day and pick up a new power supply and it seems to be working fine now.

When I was a kid my neighbor, Chad, and I were obsessed with the idea of defending ourselves if someone broke into our house at night. We had all kinds of attack plans and random weapons planted around our rooms. We would review/share our plans with each other quite often. Heck, we even invented a weapon or two. That is why I’m surprised that I never thought of this one.
