After a long hard period of soul searching and technical analysis I decided it was best for me to make a change. Mac OSX was not meeting my needs when it came to my web development projects. I love the OS, but when I don’t have a Windows PC available and needed to test my code in IE (which is a MUST) the Mac just wasn’t cutting it. I thought long and hard about trying to scrape up the extra cash to get a new Intel based Mac, but they run very very hot! So hot that you can’t even use them on your lap. And we all know how much I hate hot laptops.  Considering I use my laptop in my lap most of the time (imagine that), a new MacBook was just not a option.

Anyway, I sold the iBook and purchased a HP Pavilion DV2000z, which has a AMD Turion 64 x2 mobile processor. It’s a really nice computer and is more than meeting my development needs. I do miss the Mac OS, but after a few weeks of using only Windows PCs again I’ve gotten use to it. Maybe someday Apple will figure out how to make their laptops run cool and I can switch back.

I just came across a site that posts reviews of Mac applications. There is some really good information there. I even liked it enough to add their feed to my RSS list. They are also having a giveaway contents and if mention their site and let them know about it you get entered into the drawing. So be sure to check out http://coolosxapps.net/ for some nice Mac OS X application reviews.
